Reaction Steps
Using the reductive amination procedure described in 1B, 6-chrysenecarbaldehyde (1A) and tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (Aldrich) gave 2-((6-chrysenylmethyl)amino)-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol hydrochloride, mp 238°-239° (dec), (CH3OH/Et2O), (C,H,Cl,N).
