Procedure

The resulting ester compound and 0.07 g of 10% palladium-on-carbon were added to ethanol to conduct debenzylation in a hydrogen atmosphere to obtain 0.48 g of 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-octyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.
