Reaction Steps
4-t-Butyl-1-(but-3-ynylthiomethyl)-2,6,7-trioxabicyclo[2.2.2]octane was prepared from 2-(but-3-ynylthio)acetic acid and 3-t-butyl-3-hydroxymethyloxetane using the methodology described in Example I. A small amount of 4-t-butyl-1-[1-(but-3-yn-1-ylthio)ethyl]-2,6,7-trioxabicyclo[2.2.2]octane was also present.
