Reaction Steps
A further 51.6 g (250 mmol) racemic alpha-lipoic acid were dissolved in the toluene/alpha-lipoic acid solution from B) and reacted at 40° C. with 47.3 g (390 mol) R-(+)-alpha-methylbenzylamine and worked up as described above under A). 83.2 g (254 mmol) R-alpha-lipoic acid-R-(+)-alpha-methylbenzylamine salt were obtained.
