Reaction Steps

A mixture of 4-iodoaniline (10.00 g, 45.7 mmol, 1.0 equiv), triethylamine (6.36 ml, 45.7 mmol, 1.0 equiv) and CH2Cl2 (200 ml) was cooled to 0° C. Benzenesulfonyl chloride (5.85 ml, 45.7 mmol, 1.0 equiv) was added drop wise. The reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 3 h and then concentrated under vacuum to give a white solid (8.45 g, 51.5%) which was dried and used as such in the next step.
