Prepared from the dimethylaminomethylene derivative (Procedure E) of 1,3-dihydro-2H-pyrrolo[3,2-f]quinolin-2-one (Procedure C) with 3-aminobenzonitrile according to Procedure G in acetic acid to give the title compound in 78% yield as the acetate salt. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ: 1.88 (s, 3H); 7.39 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 1H); 7.45–7.6 (m, 3H); 7.78 (m, 2H); 8.20 (s, 1H 8.75 (d, J=4 Hz, 1H); 8.8–8.9 (m, 2H); 11.0 (s, 1H); 11.8 (d, J=12 Hz, 1H); 11.95 (s, 1H). ES-MS: m/z 313 (M+H)+.
