Prepared from the dimethylaminomethylene derivative (Procedure E) of 1,3-dihydro-2H-pyrrolo[3,2-f]quinolin-2-one (Procedure C) with 4-methoxyaniline according to Procedure G in acetic acid to give the title compound in 54% yield as the acetate salt. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6) δ: 1.88 (s, 3H); 3.75 (s, 3H); 6.97 (d, J=8.9 Hz, 2H); 7.39 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H); 7.43–7.5 (m, 3H); 7.68 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 1H); 8.70 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 1H); 8.75–8.82 (m, 2H); 10.9 (s, 1H); 11.75 (d, J=12 Hz, 1H); 11.9 (s, 1H). ES-MS: m/z 318 (M+H)+.
