N-(1-Adamantylmethyl)-2,3-dichloroisonicotinamide (0.4 g) and tert-butyl 3-aminopropylcarbamate (0.4 g) in DMSO (4 ml) were heated in a sealed tube at 160 C for 5 hrs. Ethyl acetate was added and the solution was washed with NaHCO3 solution, water, KHSO4 solution and water. The solution was dried and the solvent was evaporated. The resulting oil was subjected to flash chromatography, using ethyl acetate/hexane as eluant, to give the title compound as a colourless oil (0.41 g).
