Reaction Steps

A mixture of 5-butyl-2-(methylthio)-4(3H)-pyrimidinone (0.85 g) and 3-[3-[(1-piperidinyl)methyl]phenoxy]propanamine (1.1 g) was heated at 98°-100° for 6 hours and 140° for 2 hours. The residue was chromatographed (silica/methanol) to give an oil which solidified yielding the title compound (1.41 g) m.p. 105°-105.5°.
