Procedure

4-((1R,2R)-2-(tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)-1-(5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)propyl amino)-2-chloro-3-methylbenzonitrile (242 mg, 0.49 mmol) was deprotected using tetrabutylammonium fluoride (1.0 M solution in THF, 0.97 mL, 0.97 mmol) in a procedure analogous to that used for the preparation of example 7. After column chromatography (50% EtOAc/hexanes) the title compound was isolated as a white solid (182 mg, 97%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, acetone-d6, δ in ppm) 7.96 (m, 2H), 7.51 (m, 4H), 6.85 (d, J=8.8 Hz, 1H), 5.89 (d, J=7.7 Hz, 1H), 5.15 (dd, J=7.6 Hz, 3.91H), 5.03 (d, J=4.4 Hz, 1H), 4.53 (m, 1H), 2.35 (s, 3H), 1.28 (d, J=6.4 Hz, 3H).
