(2R,3S)-2-(2,3-dichloro-4-cyanophenylamino)-3-hydroxybutanoic acid (1.0 g, 3.46 mmol) and 4-chlorobenzohydrazide (590 mg, 3.46 mmol) were reacted using the techniques described for the preparation of intermediate 11c to furnish the title compound (800 mg, 52%). 1H NMR (500 MHz, acetone-d6, δ in ppm) 10.4 (br s, 2H), 7.98 (d, J=8 Hz, 2H), 7.61 (d, J=8 Hz, 1H), 7.43 (d, J=8 Hz, 2H), 6.84 (d, J=8 Hz, 1H), 6.18 (d, J=6 Hz, 1H), 5.0 (br s, 1H), 4.31-4.38 (m, 1H), 4.18-4.2 (m, 1H), 1.36 (d, J=6 Hz, 3H).
