Procedure

Cyanogen bromide (10.9 g, 102.9 mmol) was added to a mixture of 6-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-methoxy-3-(3-morpholin-4-ylpropoxy)aniline (17.2 g, 51.4 mmol) and TEA (15.6 g, 154.3 mmol) in DCM (200 mL) precooled to 0° C. After 1 h the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and the resulting residue stirred with EtOAc (300 mL) overnight at rt. The resulting slurry was filtered to generate the title compound contaminated with triethylamine hydrobromide (26.2 g, 71%): HPLC MS RT=0.17 min, MH+=360.2.
