Reaction Steps

A solution of Example 1 (0.22 g, 1.05 mmol) and ethyl isothiocyanatoformate (0.11 mL, 1.05 mmol) in dry THF was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. The mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue purified by column chromatography using DCM as eluant to provide the titled compound. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ ppm 1.32 (3H), 4.27 (2H), 4.70 (2H), 5.30 (2H), 7.00-7.25 (3H); MS (ESI) 343 (M+H).
