(S)-3-t-butoxycarbonylamino-4-(3,3-difluoro-2,6-dioxo-piperidin-1-yl)-butyric acid benzyl ester (310 mg, 0.70 mmol) synthesized in Section (2) was dissolved in methanol and 10% Pd/C (31 mg, 0.1 eq) was added thereto. The mixture was stirred for 1 hour under 1 atm hydrogen gas. After the reaction was complete, a solid material was removed by celite filtration to afford 260 mg of the crude title compound.
