The title compound tert-Butyl (1S)-3-Oxocyclopentane carboxylate was prepared starting from (1S)-3-Oxocyclopentane carboxylic acid (Sung, S-Y., Frahm, A. W. Arch. Pharm. Pharm. Med. Chem. 1996 329, 291-300) according to Procedure A. [α]D20=25.5° (c=7.93, chloroform).
