Reaction Steps
Thionyl chloride (0.1 mL, 1.37 mmol) was added to a solution of (62) (100.0 mg, 0.29 mmol) in THF (2 mL). After stirring for 2 hours at ambient temperature, EtOAc (10 mL) was added and the resulting mixture was poured into 5% aq. NaHCO3 (20 mL) at 4° C. The resulting mixture was extracted with EtOAc (10 mL). The organic layer was washed with 5% NaHCO3 (20 mL) at 4° C., dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound as a pale solid in quantitative yield. 1H NMR (CDCl3); δ 7.72 (s, 2H), 7.42 (s, 1H), 5.43 (d, 1H, J=5.6), 3.22-2.94 (m, 2H), 2.85-2.70 (m, 2H); MS (M++1) 355.4.
