The 2-[(2,6-dichloro-3-methoxy-4-benzyloxyphenyl)amino]phenylacetic acid (10 g) from example 38 was hydrogenated with Pd—C (1 g, 5%) in tetrahydrofuran (100 ml) and 1,2-dichlorobenzene (10 ml) at normal pressure for 25 min at room temperature. The catalyst was removed by filtration, and the filtrate was evaporated to leave the final product 2-[(2,6-dichloro-3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl) amino]phenylacetic acid.
