Reaction Steps

The ester from Example 8 (0.184 g, 0.38 mmol) was diluted with trifluoroacetic acid (5 mL) and stirred at room temperature for overnight. The solution was poured over ice, and the resulting solid was collected by filtration and dried in vacuo to give the acid (0.133 g, 80%) as a cream colored solid. 1HNMR (DMSO-d6) δ 12.7 (bs, 1H), 7.8 (s, 1H), 7.7 (d, 1H), 7.5 (d, 1H), 4.3 (s, 1H), 3.9 (m, 1H), 3.6 (m, 1H), 2.9 (m, 3H), 2.8 (m, 2H), 2.3 (m, 1H), 1.8 (m, 2H), 1.7 (m, 2H), 1.5 (m, 2H), 1.49 (s, 3H), 1.2 (s, 3H) ppm.
