To a solution of 5-(2-chloro-5-fluoro-pyridin-3-yl)-2,4-dimethoxy-pyrimidine (Prep 70, 240 mg, 0.89 mmol) in MeOH (20 ml) 10% HClaq (15 ml) was added. After refluxing the mixture for 8 hours, the solvents were evaporated and the crude was triturated with ethyl acetate to give 249 mg of the title compound (97% yield)
