To a solution of N-(2-amino-6-bromophenyl)acetamide from Step A (3.5 g, 15.28 mmol) in acetonitrile (100 mL) was added phosgene (1.9 M in toluene, 8 mL, 15.2 mmol). After 10 min, the mixture was concentrated, redissolved in water, and the solid was collected by filtration, washed with H2O and dried in vacuo to give the title compound. MS: m/z=256 (M+1).
