Five grams of 4-chlorophenylsulfenyl chloride was refluxed with 3.3 g ethyl vinyl sulfone for 3 hours in 20 ml of dichloromethane. The stripped product showed 3 spots by thin layer chromatography and was purified by chromatography over silica gel. The purified product eluted with dichloromethane and solidified after stripping to a white solid, 6.4 g, m.p. 60°-62° C.
