Procedure
A 25% hydrogen bromide-acetic acid solution (4 ml) was added to (R)-N-(4-pyridyl)-4-(1-benzyloxycarbonylaminoethyl)-3-nitrobenzamide (400 mg), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. After the reaction, the reaction mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure. The obtained crystals were washed with ethyl acetate, and recrystallized from methanol to give 153 mg of (R)-(-)-N-(4-pyridyl)-4-(1-aminoethyl)-3-nitrobenzamide dihydrobromide 1/2 hydrate having a melting point of 275° C. (dec.).
