Reaction Steps
According to the procedure indicated in Example 5, reaction of 4-(3-chloropropylthio)-3-methyl-2-[(4-pyridinylthio)methyl]pyridine with 2-phenylethyl mercaptan gives, after silica gel chromatography and crystallization from diisopropyl ether, the title compound as a colorless powder; m.p. 48-50° C.; yield 49% of theory.
