A solution of 2-(4-methylphenyl)-N-(4-piperidino-methylphenyl)-6,7-dihydro-5H-benzocycloheptene-8-carboxamide (0.26 g) and methyl iodide (0.15 ml) in dimethylformamide (15 ml) was stirred at room temperature over night. The solvent was evaporated, and to the residue was added ethyl acetate. Precipitated crude crystal was filtered, which were recrystallized from ethanol-ethyl acetate to give 1-(N-(2-(4-methylphenyl)-6,7-dihydro-5H-benzocycloheptene-8-carbonyl)-4-aminobenzyl)-1-methylpiperidinium iodide (Compound 92) (0.3 g) as colorless crystals.
