100 mg of H-Tyr-D-Met(O)-Gly-Phe-NHNH-CO-CH2CH3 is dissolved in 4% aqueous thioglycolic acid (6 ml) and kept to stand at 50° C. for10 hr. The solution is applied to a column of Sephadex G-25, which is eluted with 30% aqueous acetic acid. The fractions (270-310 ml) are combined and lyophilized to give the desired compound; yield 80 mg. Rf2 =0.61 [α]D21 +20.0° (c=0.2 MeOH).
