A mixture of N-[2-methyl-5-(2-morpholinopyrid-4-ylcarbonylamino)phenyl]-5-[N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-N-methylamino]-2-nitrobenzamide (0.22 g), 10% palladium-on-carbon (0.02 g) and methanol (15 ml) was stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen gas. After cessation of hydrogen uptake, the catalyst was removed by filtration through diatomaceous earth and the filtrate was evaporated. There was thus obtained the title compound (0.15 g); Mass Spectrum M+H+ 546.
