A solution of 0.245 g (0.52 mmol) of 1-t-butoxycarbonyl-4-(2-(3-triisopropylsilyloxy-1-propyl)oxy-2-methyl-1-propyl)piperidine and 0.53 mL (0.53 mmol) of tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) in 2 mL of THF was stirred at rt for 2 h. The reaction mixture was partitioned between ether and water. The combined organic fractions were washed with sat'd NaCl solution, dried over MgSO4, filtered and the filtrate was concentrated. The residue was purified by chromatography (silica, hexanes:acetone, 9:1) to give the title compound.
