Reaction Steps

Prepared from 2,3-dimethoxy-6-methyl-7-nitro-quinoxaline-5-carbonyl chloride (13) 250 mg (0.80 mmol) and benzylamine 90 μL (0.84 mmol). Reaction was continued for 24 hours, and the crude product was eluted through a flash column (7:3 hexanes:ethyl acetate), 260 mg (84%), mp 171-173° C.; 1H NMR (CCl3): δ 8.32 (s, 1H), 7.32 (m, 5H), 6.12 (br s, 1H), 4.68 (d, 2H, J=5.6 Hz), 4.06 (s, 3H), 3.92 (s, 3H), 2.56 (s, 3H); MS (APCI): m/z 383 (M+1). Anal Calcd. for C19H18N4O5: C, 59.68; H, 4.74; N, 14.65. Found: C, 59.63; H, 4.94; N, 14.56.
