Reaction Steps
A solution of 23 parts of methyl N-(1-amino-1-methoxymethylene)-carbamate, 16 parts of isopropyl isocyanate 60 parts of methylene chloride, and a catalytic amount of dimethylformamide and triethylamine is allowed to stand at room temperature for 3 days. The solvent is evaporated to afford 33 parts of crude methyl 4-isopropyl-N-methoxycarbonylallophanimidate, an oil, ND25 1.4823.
