Procedure
4.33 g of N-[4-(β-<3-methoxy-5-chlorothiophene-2-carboxamido>-ethyl)-benzenesulfonyl]-carbamic acid methyl ester (melting point 186° - 188° C) were dissolved in 100 ml of dioxane and, after addition of 1.2 g of 2-ethyl-cyclopentylmethylamine, kept for 2 hours under reflux. The clear solution was poured into dilute aqueous ammonia solution, filtered and acidified with 2N-hydrochloric acid. The N-[4-(β-<3-methoxy-5-chlorothiophene-2-carboxamido>-ethyl)-benzenesulfonyl]-N'-(2-ethyl-cyclopentyl-methyl)-urea so obtained was found to melt at 160° - 161° C after recrystallization from methanol.
