Procedure
100 mg of 6-trifluoromethyl-1-(1-methoxyeth-2-yl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,3-dioxoquinoxaline is suspended in 1 ml of concentrated sulfuric acid, mixed at 4° C. with 0.1 ml of a mixture of concentrated sulfuric acid:concentrated nitric acid 1:1 and stirred for 1 hour at 4° C. Then, everything is dissolved. Then, it is poured on ice and the settled precipitate is suctioned off. 59 mg (50% of theory) of 6-trifluoromethyl-7-nitro-1-(1-methoxyeth-2-yl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,3-dioxoquinoxaline is obtained.
