Reaction Steps
In the same manner as in Example 19 (19a) paraformaldehyde (42 mg) and isopropyl alcohol (0.092 ml) were used respectively instead of propionaldehyde and 1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole. Thus, ethyl 2-(isopropoxymethyl)-5-(4,5-dimethoxy-2-nitrobenzoyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (215 mg, 85%) was prepared as a light yellow oil from ethyl 5-(4,5-dimethoxy-2-nitrobenzoyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (Synthesis Example 2) (210 mg).
