Procedure
829 μl of acetaldehyde are added to a suspension of 20 g of 2-amino-5-methoxy-benzenesulphonamide in 20 ml of anhydrous ethanol. The reaction mixture becomes homogeneous and is heated at reflux for 30 min. The ethanol is evaporated off in vacuo. The solid is taken up in ether and filtered off. The solid is taken up in 40 ml of ethanol, refluxed for 15 min. and allowed to return to ambient temperature. The expected product is obtained after filtration.
