Procedure
7.44 grams of ethyl 1-n-hexyl-2-hydroxy-cyclopentane carboxylate obtained in Example 17 were diluted with 60 ml of methylene chloride. At room temperature and with magnetic stirring, 3.66 ml of pyridine was slowly added, then 6.12 ml of 4-methyl-benzoyl chloride was dropwise added. Then the procedure as described in Example 23 was followed, to give 12.53 g of yellow liquid.
