Following General Procedure B above using N-(phenylacetyl)-L-alanine (Example A) and 3-aminocaprolactam (Sigma), the title compound was prepared as a solid having a melting point of 200-202° C. The reaction was monitored by tlc on silica gel (Rf=0.30 in 1:9 methanol/dichloromethane).
