To a solution of 4-(2-benzyloxybenzyl)-3-(β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-5-trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole (300 mg) in N,N-dimethylformamide (3 mL) were added (2-bromoethoxymethyl)benzene (379 mg) and cesium carbonate (957 mg), and the mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 1.5 hours. The reaction mixture was poured into water, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (eluent: dichloromethane/methanol=20/1-10/1) to give the title compound (154 mg).
