To a stirred solution of 2,4-dichloro-5-fluoro-pyrimidine (0.67 g, 4.03 mmol) and triethylamine (0.84 mL, 6.04 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was added benzyl 4-(aminomethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (EXAMPLE 13, Step 1) (1.00 g, 4.03 mmol). The resulting reaction solution was stirred at rt for 1 h, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (CH2Cl2/IPA/hexanes) to give 4-[(2-chloro-5-fluoro-pyrimidin-4-ylamino)-methyl]-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid benzyl ester. M.S. (M+1): 379.25
