20% Pd(OH)2 on carbon (0.7 g) was added to a solution of benzyl {1-[2-hydroxy-2-(6-methoxy-quinolin-4-yl)-ethyl]-piperidin-3-ylmethyl}carbamate (2.51 g, 5.58 mmol) in THF (35 ml), MeOH (7 ml) was added and hydrogenation was carried out under a hydrogen atmosphere (1 bar). The reaction mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated.
