Reaction Steps

To a solution of 46 (20.0 mg, 0.056 mmol) in dry THF (1.2 mL) under N2 at room temperature was added KHMDS solution (0.5 M, 0.12 mL, 0.060 mmol). After the addition, the reaction mixture was stirred for 45 min. and diluted with ether. The solution was washed with 1 N HCl (aq), H2O, saturated NaHCO3 (aq), and brine and dried over Na2SO4. The solvent as removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by flash chromatography (hexanes:ethyl acetate 2:1) to afford 47 as a pale yellow oil.
