Reaction Steps
A solution of BBr3 in dichloromethane (1M) was added at −78° C. to a solution of 2.0 g of (8c) in 50 ml of dichloromethane. After stirring at room temperature for 3 hours, the solution was cooled to −78° C. and 100 ml of methanol were then added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight and then concentrated.
