A mixture of {6-[(2-butyl-benzofuran-3-carbonyl)-amino]-naphthalen-2-yloxy}-acetic acid methyl ester (103 mg, 0.239 mmol), prepared in the previous step, and 1 N NaOH (239 μL, 0.239 mmol) in 10 mL of THF plus 5 mL of water was stirred at room temperature for 21 h (overnight). The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound (95 mg, 87%) as a yellow solid, MS m/z: 416 [M−H]−.
