Reaction Steps

A mixture of tert-butyl 1-{[(3-nitroquinolin-4-yl)amino]methyl}cyclohexylcarbamate (29.5 g, 73.7 mmol) and 5% platinum on carbon (0.30 g) in toluene (300 mL) was hydrogenated at 50 psi (3.5×105 Pa) for 4 hours (h) on a Parr apparatus. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethanol (200 mL) and was filtered through CELITE filter agent. The filtrate was concentrated to give tert-butyl 1-{[(3-aminoquinolin-4-yl)amino]methyl}cyclohexylcarbamate as a brown solid (27.3 g, 100%).
