Procedure

The product of step (g) (337 mg, 1.4 mmol) was dissolve in 10 mL of 1:1 CHCl3:HOAc and treated with NBS (301 mg, 1.7 mmol). After stirring for ½ hour, the reaction was diluted with DCM and washed with water (50 mL) and 1M NaOH (2×50 mL). The crude product was purified by silica gel chromatography to give 235 mg of the sub-title compound.
