To a suspension of tris(1,1-dimethylethyl)2-(2-chloro-5-fluoro-6-{[2-methyl-2-(4-morpholinyl)propyl]amino}-4-pyrimidinyl)-1,1,2-hydrazinetricarboxylate (0.578 g, 0.94 mmol) in MeOH (8 mL) was added 4M HCl in 1,4-dioxane (8 mL), and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed in vacuo, and the crude residue was treated with an aqueous K2CO3 extractive workup to provide 2-chloro-5-fluoro-6-{[2-methyl-2-(4-morpholinyl)propyl]amino}-4(1H)-pyrimidinone hydrazone as a brown oil (0.249 g). LCMS: (M+H)+=319.2.
