Reaction Steps
4,6-Dichloro-5-fluoro-2-(methylthio)pyrimidine (see Intermediate E) (0.3313 g, 1.563 mmol), N-methyl-1-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl)methanamine (0.200 g, 1.5625 mmol), and triethylamine (0.26 mL, 1.8654 mmol) were dissolved in THF (5 mL) and left to stir overnight. Then the reaction mixture was diluted with water and the aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organics were dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated to produce 6-chloro-5-fluoro-N-methyl-2-(methylthio)-N-(1,3-thiazol-2-ylmethyl)-4-pyrimidinamine as a yellow oil (0.4928 g). LCMS: (M+H)+=305.0.
