Reaction Steps

1-(1H-Imidazol-4-yl)-1-[6-methoxy-5-(propen-2-yl)naphthalen-2-yl]-2-methyl-1-propanol (0.509 g) was dissolved in methanol (40 ml). To the solution was added 10% palladium carbon (0.260 g), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 h under hydrogen atmosphere (3 atoms). The catalyst was filtered off, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (eluent, dichloromethane:methanol=50:1→20:1) to give the titled compound (0.234 g) as a colorless solid.
