The benzyl (S)-6-benzyloxycarbonylamino-2-((2-methyl-1-(4-phenylbutanoylamino)propyl)(benzyloxyphosphinoyl)oxy)hexanoate (43.9 mg) obtained in the above step (f) was dissolved in a mixed solvent of dioxane and water (3:1) (439 ml), and the solution was added with palladium hydroxide (8.8 mg) and stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere at room temperature for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered with celite, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by HP-20 (Diaion, 5 g, water to methanol) to obtain the title compound: (S)-6-amino-2-(2-methyl-1-(4-phenylbutanoylamino)propyl(hydroxyphosphinoyl)oxy)hexanoic acid (17.5 mg, 70%, a diastereoisomeric mixture of 1:1).
