Procedure
142 mg (0.64 mmol) of 3a-fluoro-1,2,3,3a,5,9b-hexahydrocyclopenta[c]quinoline-4-thione is dissolved in 50 ml of 7 M methanolic ammonia solution. After 1 hour of stirring at room temperature, the batch is concentrated by evaporation in a vacuum, and the residue is purified by column chromatography on silica gel with dichloromethane-ethanol as an eluant: 108 mg of product, melting point 174-6° C.
