Reaction Steps
To the product from Example 278A in a capped test-tube were added iron powder (78.4 mg, 1.4 mmoles), NH4Cl (7.5 mg, 1.4 mmoles), ethyl alcohol (3 mL) and water (1 mL). The reaction mixture was shaken violently at 80° C. overnight. CH2Cl2 (4 mL) was added to extract the product. Then, the reaction mixture was filtered. The CH2Cl2 layer was separated and dried in vaccuo.
