A 2 N hydrochloric acid/ethyl acetate solution (10 ml) of N-[2-[3-(tert-butoxycarbonylaminomethyl)phenoxy]-4-chlorophenyl]-N-(3,4-dichlorobenzyl)-N′-(2-fluorobenzyl)succinamide (0.50 g, 0.7 mmols) was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The solid precipitated was taken out through filtration, and washed with ethyl ether to give an amorphous solid of N-[2-(3-aminomethylphenoxy)-4-chlorophenyl]-N-(3,4-dichlorobenzyl)-N′-(2-fluorobenzyl)succinamide hydrochloride (0.37 g, 82.2%).
